I continue to have problems with my posts showing up, so hopefully this will come up for you...

Yesterday, on the Lockerroom, they were talking about the Tigers, and Gary was saying how he thinks that this year's team is better than last years, and when it got into a discussion, Gary pointed out his reasons, one of which was that he really likes Randall Simon and Robert Fick. Correct me if I am wrong, but weren't those two on the team last year? How is that a reason for the team being better than last year?

You learn something new everyday...

I've come to realize that when i come back to my blog to see if anyone has commented, it helps if I have new posts for people (all 4 of you) to comment on.

Hybrid car commercial....

I'm not sure if it's Honda, but there is a commercial for a hybrid car, and they show a guy walking around the car, trying to figure out where to plug the extension cord in. As I watched, I noticed that the guy was holding the male end of the extension cord. Shouldn't the male end be plugged into the wall, and he would be holding the female end?

I'm no electrician, but I think that's how it's supposed to go.
Dodgeball. Coming soon to a TV near you?

Does the NBA and NHL playoffs schedule annoy anyone else, or is it just me?

It was much simpler when they just played every other day. That way, you always knew when your team was playing (did they play today, no, then they play tomorrow).

Now sometimes they skip a day, sometimes they don't, sometimes they skip two or three days. It used to make sense when they would skip an extra day for travel, but now there are times where teams will play back-to-back nights traveling from one city to another, and sometimes they will skip two or three days with no travel. I understand that sometimes it has to do with scheduling of the arena, but not always. I hate that the TV schedule dictates the day and time of games. The fact that an Eastern Conference game was played at 8:30 PM on a Sunday Night and Portland and LA played at 5:30 ET doesn't make any sense to me.

OK, I'll stop complaining for now

I know that more people are focused on the Wings instead of the Pistons, but does anyone know why the Pistons/Raptors game was blacked out on TNT last night?

While watching the Detroit/New Jersey game on Tuesday night, I saw Keith Van Horn, and was reminded of the time in college while watching him play at Utah, and one of my roommates called him "Bazooka Joe"

Have I mentioned that I don't understand fashion?

Matt Lauer states the obvious...

After I got ready this morning, I went downstairs and turned on the TV to see if I had to go to work today. I needed to check the winning numbers from the Big Game drawing last night. I was running a little later than usual, and missed the local news on WDIV, and the Today show was just starting. At the top of the show, Matt Lauer (I don't know if I am spelling his name right or not) said something to the effect of, "There were three winning tickets in last night's Big Game drawing, but none of the winners have come forward yet."

Are you serious??? First of all, the drawing happened only 8 hours ago!!!!! I would have to guess that many people were asleep when the drawing actually took place, and are just finding out this morning what the winning numbers were (like me). Second, if I did in fact win, going to the press would not be my first priority. What good would that do, except get your name out there, so people would start calling you for money.

I just came from the dentist, and I'm hungry, and it's lunchtime, yet I find it hard to eat.

I feel like I should let my teeth (or "teephesis") be clean for as long as possible.

It's like going to get your car washed, then driving down a dirt road.

Have you ever had that feeling, or am I that weird?
In the market for a bird feeder?

I highly recommend buying a Opus bird feeder. They also make bird feeders under the name Top Flight.

For Christmas, I got my wife one of the three tube Top Flight bird feeders. It's really cool, cuz you have three different tubes to put in different types of seed. Anywho, about a month or two ago, we had some really windy weather (so windy, it blew off the downspout from our upper to lower roof). During this windy storm, the bird feeder, which was hanging from a tree, fell to the ground. On the bottom of the bird feeder, there is a little tray to catch seed, and also allows for bigger birds to stand while they eat. This tray cracked, and broke into many pieces.

I sent an email to the company, asking if there was a way for me to order a replacement part (I was fully willing to pay for the new part). About 10-20 minutes after I sent the email (which was late afternoon), I received a reply from them asking me for my address so that they could mail me the part..... FREE OF CHARGE..... I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO PAY SHIPPING!!!!!! What a great company to deal with. Great customer service, which is really hard to find these days.

(the reason i mentioned that it was late afternoon, was that they didn't wait until the next day to answer my email, but they answered it late in the day. Not that it's a huge deal, just an extra plus)

I have to remember to email them back and thank them for their great service.

"Tiger Wins" and "Tigers Lose"... just swap the 's' in each, and the baseball fans in Detroit would be happier.
This weekend, at our church, we wrote letters to our Senators/Congressperson, for Bread For The World..... In the past, I would always write to Spencer Abraham, because I could sing "Father Abraham" with his name (substituting "Spencer" for "Father"...... "Spencer Abraham, had many sons...... and many sons had Spencer Abraham.... la la la la la.... la la la la......)

Anywho, last year and this year, I have been unable to do that, because Spence lost the 2000 election to Debbie Stabenow... ("Debbie Stabenow, had many sons......" just doesn't have the same ring to it). For that reason, the past two years I've wrote letters to one of the Levins (Sander or Carl).

I suppose this post doesn't serve much of a purpose, except to get the tune of "Father Abraham" stuck in all your heads. If you are familiar with the song, it won't be too long before you start shouting "RIGHT ARM, LEFT ARM, RIGHT LEG, LEFT LEG...." and then start laughing because you are picturing a time when you actually did this. On the other hand, if you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm not sure how to explain it, but there is a short scene in the movie "Sliding Doors" where James and some of his buddies do it.

NOTE TO SELF: Next year (and every year after, for that matter), do not, I REPEAT DO NOT wait until the last minute to do your taxes.

Today, the three Detroit Sports teams that are currently playing (Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons) are all hosting Chicago teams (White Sox, Blackhawks, and Bulls).

I'm not sure if this is a frequent occurance, but I thought it was worth noting.

I have some strange pet peeves..... and some of them are probably hypocritical. One of them being certain uses of bad grammar. I should be the LAST PERSON to complain about peoples bad grammar, as I am usually grammatically incorrect.

That being said, it really bugs me when I hear people say, "I seen... " AARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!! It's either "I HAVE seen..." or "I SAW...." To me, saying "I seen" is the equivalent of scratching your finger nails down a chalkboard..... well, it's really not the equivalent, since nails on a chalkboard doesn't really bother me all that much, but you know what I mean.

In a post from June 20 of last year, I made a comment about the Cosby Show when they saw Stevie Wonder and what each person said. I wrote that I couldn't remember what Denise said, and that Vanessa said, "I don't know what to say." Well, I was wrong...

Denise was the one that said, "I don't know what to say." Vanessa said, "Robert"

I've been catching the reruns on Nick at Nite recently, and last night they did something cool. They showed the Pilot episode, and then showed the final episode of the series. They did the same with Cheers. Unfortunately, I was unable to stay awake for part two of the series finally (and all the Cheers episodes), but I did see the Cosby show pilot, and their house was different. The layout of the upstairs appeared to be similar, with minor changes, but the look of the downstairs (i.e. the living room/stairs) was totally different. And at the beginning, Vanessa calls Theo "Teddy".

I don't have much else to say, 'cept that I'm a bit tired due to a late night at a bachelor party and a loss of hour of sleep, and having to be up early for other events on the following mornings.

Introducing the mascots for the 2004 Olympics in Athens....

This is the best they could come up with?
everything from yesterday's post still applies...

... whilst watching Ed last night, the "Smiling Goat" seemed to look different. Before it was more of a dark Bar/Restaurant. Now it looks more like a bright family restaurant (with windows, colorful booths, etc.)

Just something I noticed.
